Gary lives with his wife Marty near Interstate Park in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin - just a few minutes from the Dalles of the St. Croix. Hence the many photos, in all seasons and weather conditions, of perhaps the most beautiful segment of the St. Croix River. He serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Croix River Association and many of his photos are found in their publications and on their web site.
Nature photography is Gary’s focus. The stunning images on this site have been taken in and around the St. Croix River, Lake Superior’s North Shore, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and many national parks (Yosemite, Bryce, Arches, Zion, Capitol Reef, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and most recently Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica).
Although Gary has been shooting with SLR cameras since the 1980s – starting with an Olympus OM1 – he entered the digital arena five years ago with his first digital SLR - a Canon 40D. Since then he has progressed to a Canon 60D, which also allows him to explore HD video. Craig Blacklock
